Marquez vs Mayweather
Marquez knocked down Mayweather in the pre-opening rounds of their match when he extracted $600,000 from him for weighing 2 pounds over the contracted weight limit of 144. Good for Juan Manuel, even before he throws the first left upper cut he already got himself some moolah.
As reported, Marquez will be pocketing $3.2million for this bout but looks like he will be taking home an extra $600K as well!
Frankly, this is unworthy of Mayweather. He seems to be the consummate professional (minus his mouth) when it comes to preparing for a fight. But for something that was scheduled and delayed already, he really has no excuse to come in at the weight that he came in. Looks like Floyd Mayweather is going down a slippery slope, and Juan Manuel Marquez’s odds of winning against Floyd just got a little smaller.
