french open 2010 predictionThe 2010 French Open is in full swing and all the players are in place. The 2009 French Open champion, Roger Federer, has gained enough confidence going into this year’s open by placing 2nd to Nadal in the 2010 Mutua Madrilena Madrid Masters. He is getting back into the groove and expects a good showing this year.

The man to beat however is no other than the rejuvenated Rafael Nadal. In his bracket he may have to go through Ivan Ljubicic to proceed to the quarterfinals and meet either Verdasco or Gonzalez. These three players have losing records against Nadal. And with the way Nadal is playing these days, his chances of storming into the semifinals is very high.

Nadal, should he push through to the semis, could then meet Novak Djokovic, a guy who has never beaten him on clay. Should the two meet, I would heavily favor Nadal to progress to the Finals, where he could meet Roger Federer of course. Based on their last meeting where Nadal dismissed Federer in two sets, there’s no doubt in my mind that Nadal will recapture the title and be declared as the King of Clay once again.

So if I were a betting man, I would most certainly place my bet on Nadal to win the 2010 French Open.
